Great brush! August 30, 2010 Fred My dog used to hate being brushed, now with Furminator he just loves sitting down and being groomed. Great product at a great price. Thanks
My dog weighs 10 pounds less and my cats are bald! WOO HOO! August 19, 2010 MHL1959 (Land of Cheese & The Green Bay Packers!) Ok...I've seen this Furminator for a couple of years, but for the price back then, I couldn't imagine it being worth it.
Boy, was I wrong! Best yet, I paid about 1/4 of that original price right here on Amazon!
First off, I started brushing (combing really) my Black Lab, Jenny and her undercoat was just coming out in clumps. The more I combed, the bigger the pile of fur grew! I had enough to stuff a pillow and then some and Jenny didn't want me to stop. She kept bucking her head under the Furminator, rolling on her back and wanting me to comb her "armpits." She was in full-fledged, tail-thumping, foot-bouncing dogasm mode.
I immediately noticed a difference on my light kitchen floor that is usually residence for wispy clumps of hair, much like tumbleweeds rolling through the plains. For a good two days, the amount of hair I found on the floor was GREATLY decreased. By day 3, I saw some hair floating and as soon as I grabbed the Furminator, Jenny was ready to be combed again. It took considerably less time to get her combed the second time and once again, I had 2 relatively hair-free days.
I have a separate room in my home to house my cats. Don't go calling PETA or Hoarders, it isn't a dungeon or anything like that, but rather a big sunny room, filled with cat trees, fresh food and water, their own furniture, an enclosed walkway and play area outside, tons of toys, etc...Now believe me, NONE of these cats have been fans of getting brushed...at all. I would be lucky to get a few swipes in with a typical cat brush before getting bitten, but the Furminator was such a hit, they were lining up to get combed! I tried to be as gentle as possible (as noted in other reviews, the Furminator is a bit beefier to handle), but those cats were pushing themselves against the head of the Furminator and purring like crazy! Their hair was WORSE than Jenny's so I went at it once a day for three days for all six of the cats. By day 4, I noticed not only had the floating hair gone down to almost nothing, so had the hair on my cats! Crazier yet, they STILL want to be Furminated! Most are now sporting reverse mohawks, a real interesting style to say the least, but they love it!
Furminator August 7, 2010 Sandy Furminator came highly recommended by friends but was too expensive for my budget. Went on Amazon.com and found the Furminator for under $15 including s&h. Savings of over $30.Product came within 2 days, exactly what I wanted. The product is excellent, does exactly what it says, and I have been able to eliminate 90% of the fur my dogs leave behind. Imagine loving your dogs and not having to constantly clean up after them. Unbelievable. Recommend it without hesitiation. Thanks Amazon, Pampered Pets and Home products.
The best fur brush I have ever used, but it still has drawbacks August 3, 2010 Antonio Martinelli This is far and away the best fur brush I have ever used, and I've used A LOT. I've spent the past 30 years with a countless array of furry critters, and I couldn't begin to list the brushes I've tried. The Furminator is BY FAR the best. I only have 2 cats now, which I had been brushing about once a week, and its amazing what this new brush did to them. I pulled enough loose fur off my longhair to create a ball of it that was BIGGER THAN HER, and remember she had already been receiving regular brushings with the old brush! After I brushed the shorthair, I swear he looked slimmer! Their fur is also a beautiful consistency now; it doesn't clump, or look ratty after they've been sleeping on it, and it feels softer. Also, LESS HAIRBALLS cuz they're not swallowing all that loose fur. The only beef I have with this thing is that you have to clean the blades every 2-3 swipes. This is why the double-bladed one is the way to go. Not a HUGE hassle, but annoying. The results, however, are very worth it.
This is not a shill review account; I am a real person who has actually purchased this (I uploaded a picture of the huge furball I brushed off my shorthair) :)
Love it. August 3, 2010 booksie I received the double-edge FURminator last week. It works great! I used to have a single-edge tool (different brand). I'm glad I lost it because my cat seems to like this one much better - I'm not sure if it's the brand or the two edges, though. He has different kinds of fur - short and straight on his back, legs, and head, long and fluffy on his sides and tail, and fluffy and curly on his belly. This brush works great on all of it. Both edges pick up fur very easily. Also easy to remove it from the brush. I can pick up my cat now without getting any fur on my clothes - the brush takes care of all the excess. I'm very happy with this product.
