A total waste of money! March 3, 2010 Picky Grad Student (St. Louis, MO, USA) The product specifically said that it would work for dogs of all sizes. Though it might be effective on tiny dogs with small nails, it was totally useless on our medium-sized dog. By the time I got half way through one of her nails, the sanding disk was done for! I'm going to give this to my grandmother for her Maltese - we'll see if she can get some use out of it. Take my advice and hang on to your money.
GREAT TOOL ... February 25, 2010 P. J. Humphreys (West Bridgewater, MA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After fighting with my dog, doing some blood-letting because she moved her foot as I cut, and a lot of lashing out, I got this in hopes it would be better. HALLELUJAH!! I followed the directions and by the time I was on the second paw, she seemed to be calmer. A little treat reward and patience paid off ... no more blood letting, no more screaming, and now - a year later - she offers her paw to be manicured!! YES, it is slower, YES you have to trim in bursts of 5-7 seconds so it doesn't get hot, but OH, it's so peaceful and quiet now. This is one of the best investments I made for my baby!
Don't waste your money! February 23, 2010 Honest Abe (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item is a waste of money. Fully charged I am able to file two of my dogs nails at best before it runs down. It stops turning if you apply any pressure whatsoever, but won't file if you don't.
What a life saver! February 19, 2010 cac225 (Ann Arbor, MI) I have a 12lb terrier mix and cutting his nails was always a disaster. I live alone so there was no one else to hold him while I tried to cut his nails. He would squirm and wriggle and he yelped every single time I cut a nail, even though I was no where close to his cuticle. Even after finally being able to cut his nails they were still sharp (although short) and would scratch my arms and legs.
This product is WONDERFUL. You do absolutely have to get your dog used to the product. My dog was very hesitant at first but I let him sniff it and would give him a treat every time he got close to it. After about 30 minutes he was comfortable around it. The first time I used it he tried to pull away for the first paw (although he never yelped) but then after that he just laid in my lap and let me do the other three paws. Since then he realizes that he gets treats whenever I bring it out so he's actually excited to see it. He just lays there like he's sleeping and lets me take care of all of his paws. It takes less than 5 minutes for all four paws.
The best thing about this product is that his nails are never sharp anymore! They stay dull for well over two weeks and I haven't had a single scratch since! I LOVE pedipaws.
Good Product! February 17, 2010 Squickenpup I was worried about purchasing this after the reviews I read, but I have been nothing but pleased with it! My Beagle is scared to death to have her nails clipped so I figured I'd try this out. I was worried she'd be scared of the noise, but it didn't bother her at all. My husband held her as I went to work. The results were impressive!
