Steve and Blue are excited because Magenta is coming over for a play date. But what does Blue want to do when Magenta arrives? You guessed it--Blue and Steve are going to play Blue's Clues to figure it out. As they search for clues, Steve and Blue help friends Shovel and Pail play hide and seek by identifying the trails left by Duck and Snail. They also discover opposites with Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper and find costumes that go together with Felt Friends. In the second episode, "What Does Blue Want to Do with Her Drawing?", Blue is working on a special drawing. When she's finished, Steve suggests hanging it on the refrigerator, but Blue has other ideas. As they play Blue's Clues to discover Blue's plan, Steve exposes the mystery ice-cream-cone maker and helps Felt Friend put his clothes on in the correct order.

In both 25-minute episodes, Blue and Steve captivate their young audience while teaching such skills as categorization, ordering, deduction, and visual perception. This is a great Blue's Clues video that simply must join your collection. --Tami Horiuchi

5 out of 5 stars Happy Grandbaby   October 19, 2009

My grandson discovered Blue's Clues way after the fad had peaked, so it's hard to get Blue's Clues themed items for him now. He was coming to visit, and my truck has a VHS player in it. I ordered Magenta Comes Over to play on long rides, and he absolutely LOVED it. I'm extremely happy with my purchase - only one thing: I ordered a new one and the packaging looked kind of beat up when it arrived. It could be because its been sitting around on a shelf a long time, because I don't think they're making Blue's Clues video tapes any more. Since he's been born, I've watched my share of Blue's Clues (On Demand), and this is definitely one of the better episodes.

5 out of 5 stars She must be in love with Steve or something!   July 16, 2002

As with all "Blue's Clues" videos, my 2-year-old daughter just loves this one! We have to keep Steve on the TV all day. My daughter knows all the songs, and she follows along with Steve and Blue's actions (waving, nodding, jumping, etc.). She has it all memorized. Oh, and a word of caution to all parents with toddlers who love Steve: there's a REALLY cute song at the beginning of this video called "Bedtime Business", in which Steve sings about getting ready for bed and bunny slippers and such. My daughter is OBSESSED with this song. We have to keep rewinding back to the beginning of the song like 8 times before she'll watch the rest of the video! Thank goodness this song is on the CD "Goodnight Blue", which fortunately we own! But the two episodes on this video are really cool. I highly recommend it! Oh, and there's a part where Steve and Blue are talking to Magenta on the phone, and it's so cute, because my daughter grabs her "Blue's Clues" phone and pretends she's talking to them, too! Yep, it's definitely one of her very favorite videos!
