Product Description
Understanding Business by Nickels, McHugh, and McHugh has been the number one textbook in the introduction to business market for several editions for three reasons: (1) The commitment and dedication of an author team that teaches this course and believes in the importance and power of this learning experience, (2) we listen to our customers, and (3) the quality of our supplements package. We consistently look to the experts . full-time faculty members, adjunct instructors, and of course students to drive the decisions we make about the text itself and the ancillary package. Through a series of focus groups, symposia, as well as full-book, single-chapter, revised manuscript reviews of both text and key ancillaries, we have heard the stories of more than 500 professors and their insights and experiences are evident on every page of the revision and in every supplement. As teachers of the course and users of their own materials, the author team is dedicated to the principles of excellence in business education. From providing the richest most current topical coverage to using dynamic pedagogy that puts students in touch with todays real business issues, to creating groundbreaking and market-defining ancillary items for professors and students alike, Understanding Business leads the way.

2 out of 5 stars Great Product, Horrible Service.   October 20, 2008
T. J. Williams
The textbook is great, easy to read, and slightly overpriced the way textbooks are supposed to be.
Customer service however, was horrible.

When I originally ordered the book online, I received a message saying that the book was no longer in stock. My credit card was still charged however. Upon calling the customer service representative, I received a non-English speaking man who did nothing but tell me that it would be there in about 3 weeks. It was a horrible experience that I hope not to repeat if I continue to shop on Amazon.com.

5 out of 5 stars Greatest book ever   October 9, 2008
A. Easton
As much as I really didn't want this book, since it's for school, the shipping was fast and the book was in perfect condition! Thanks a lot!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome   September 29, 2008
Briana Seelen (AZ)
The book was in really great condition the only thing is that it took longer than I expected to get here.

3 out of 5 stars Introductory, but not much more   September 29, 2008
Michael W. Proch (Arkansas)
I know this is an introductory text, but goodness. There seems to be quite a few text errors in the book. The text is kinda, I'm not sure how to put it, playful. It is more at a level with beginning high school kids (and I am using it in college)

That aside, the information in the book is OK, but I'm sure there are much better books out there.

4 out of 5 stars Functional book   September 23, 2008
G. Razo (Vault City, CA)
This book serves a function. That function is to teach one about the basic fundamentals of business. It has interesting anecdotes from time to time, but by and large it is a book for school. Want something entertaining that teaches about business? Find something else. Something that costs way less than this.
