I really have nothing to compare this item with as this is my first purchase of a life vest for a dog. Nonetheless, the vest fits my brothers dog perfectly, and it keeps him afloat as it should. He looks adorable, and we feel safe taking him out on the boat. I purchased an xxsmall one at the same time for my tiny dog, and it also fits just right and keeps the little one afloat.

Not much to say. Have used it 2 or 3 times now, no fraying or loose threads. The strap under the neck helps keep the dogs face above water. Tightens enough not to be loose while the dog is in the water.
