 Does its job for a lot less money than the competition! February 22, 2010

I bought this product to make driving with my dog safer. Previous to owning this product, my 9 lb. havanese would get carsick and throw up in the crate or if he wasn't in the crate, would work his way to my lap. Ordering from Amazon, it was delivered free in less than one week.
I got the XL rather than the smaller version and I'm glad I did. Now that my dog can see higher, he enjoys looking everywhere, and there is also big enough room that he can lie down - perfect for long drives. Note that it is best for the dog to use a harness and not a collar while tethered to this. Setting up was easy - took all of 5 minutes. Also the "basket" as I call it, is raised, not sitting directly on the seat, so there is room to put something on the seat under it.
The liner is pretty and can be removed for washing.
Overall, I am quite happy with it. Compared to the other pet booster seats available in the market, this one does its job for a lot less money. The only reason I held back 1 star is that the metal that the clips attached to look flimsy and the straps that attach to the back of the seat and to the headrest tend to slide a little that they need to be tightened/re-adjusted after a while.

I'm very impressed with my Solvit pet booster seat. My Cavalier (19 lbs) sits in it comfortably, can see out the window, is well confined so he can't bother me while I drive (or the kids in the back eating). So much nicer than our last method, which was basically a leash attached around headrests and hooked to his harness. He was all over the place with that system (and eating the kids food). What's more, the construction is of very good quality. I also would like to add that you can hook it up or remove it in about 10 seconds. LOVE IT!

All the other dog seats I have tried have proven to be too small for my dog, even though he is a 13lb Pekingese. This one gives him room enough so he can sit up and look out the window or lie down and snooze.
It also makes a great grocery carrier in my small pickup when he is not with me.
I am thoroughly satisfied and have recommended it to others with small dogs. However, I would not recommend it for people with larger dogs.

Love this product. My schnauzer was always trying to get into my husband's lap while driving. This seat keeps him from jumping from the back to front seats and is large enough for Winston to sleep in. He can see out the window without standing on his hind legs. He doesn't seem to get car sick with this booster seat.

I bought the extra large seat for my Toy Poodle so that he can lay down on long car trips. This is plenty big enough for him to be comfortable in but I had to put cushion in bottom so that he was high enough to look out the window. Smaller size would probably be good if going around town or on short trips. Tether works well to keep him from jumping out onto my lap in traffic! Highly recommend this to anyone who takes there dogs on long trips in the car.
