I bought this for my 6 month old Yorkie Poo-she loves it. No more confined space in a carry when we drive. It hooks up secure around seat and is a perfect height for your pooch to look at the window. My dog is 11 pounds and she still has room in the small size. I would have gave it a 5 if you a had a choice of colors.

I have a JRT and I would recommend purchasing the extra large size booster seat. I would also recommend purchasing a pad for the bottom since it doesn't come with one.

I have 2 of these seats for my 4 chihuahuas... 2 dogs per seat. Quite the sight in my car! The seats are sturdy, easily cleaned and gives the dogs a nice view out the window. Definitely would get another if the need arises.

Pros: Easy to assemble; easy to install; sturdier than expected; roomy; easy to clean.
Cons: The tether is a little short. I don't use it, but if you do and want your dog to have good range of motion (including the ability to lie down), you might need to add some length to it yourself.
I bought the biggest Solvit booster seat for my puppy with hopes that he wouldn't grow out of it. Barney has been using it for about 4 months and, with him currently at 17 pounds, it looks like he will be able to continue to use it for a long time. He can sit, and even lie down, very comfortably (see my user photos). The only problem I have had was my own fault. I made the mistake of unhooking the strap that goes around the headrest to make an adjustment while Barney was in the seat and, after that, the strap kept loosening just from Barney's weight in the seat. That was easily fixed, however, with a couple of adhesive velcro dots that I had on hand. Ideally, I would like to use the tether for safety reasons, but Barney quickly chewed through both the tether and his harness. Even without the tether, I feel he is safer in the booster seat than he would be just lying on the passenger seat. He almost never stands up in his booster seat. I think he enjoys having his own space. He is perfectly content to sit and look out the window or lie down and take a nap.
