didn't work out September 12, 2008 Chicago born (IL) While the concept on this product is great, it didn't turn out to be what I expected. It was bulky to carry around. I had a terrible time trying to take it apart to be able to use it, and it constantly was leaking.
not that handi August 19, 2008 T. Page (pdx or) I thought this would be great, but I was disappointed. It is NOT spill-proof; it leaks when you carry it in a bag. As mentioned by others it requires quite a bit of juggling to snap open, snap into place, then squeeze. Now I just fill a baggy with water at the water fountain in the park instead of using this.
Great!! August 13, 2008 Arlene Velez (San Juan, PR Puerto Rico) It's a great idea. I take it to every park or activities with my dog. Very practical.

When I read some of the other reviews, it made me realize that reviews, in the end, can only relay each person's personal experience. The product might be great, but the person used it wrong. The product might be horrible for one person who uses it a lot, and great for someone who hardly uses it at all. It's kind of like saying chocolate ice cream is clearly the best and vanilla is horrible. I like the reviews, but you do need to read ten or twenty before you can make a decision. As for this product, we've had this water bottle for years and we love it. I say "we" because my husband is not an animal person, so he would be the first to complain if the bottle gave him problems. The size and shape makes it easy to pack for trips, and not to cumbersome for walks. I never use the spout, I take the cap off, put the tray on the ground, and pour in the water. I'm not my dogs' valet after all, I'm not going to stand there and hold the thing for them. So maybe the people who don't like the product are the ones trying to use it and hold it the way the photo shows. Of course, the price is high. I mean, it's a water bottle. Don't people throw water bottles away every day? It has a tray, so tack on a buck or so. To be honest, I bought it years ago and I don't remember what I paid. If you really need to economize, just hold on to the bottle the next time you finish your bottled water, get some kind of small tray (like gladware) and rubberband them together. Long story short, it's a water bottle with a tray that's handy. It works for us.

This purchase quickly became part of our doggy pack and goes with us everywhere from the local park to the lake, etc. It's so easy to use and certainly beats carrying a bottle of water and a separate bowl or hunting a portable water supply.
